A courtesy one hour consultation is to determine your orthodontic needs. At this visit our aim is to determine either short and/or long term orthodontic needs for you or your child. Our goal is to help educate you each step of the way and have you leave our office with a full understanding of all of the options available to you. We have visual aids to help you understand what orthodontic appliances look like and how they work.

You will be greeted by our Dental Concierge who will ensure that you get acquainted with our office. Our New Patient Coordinator will then meet with you to acquire a series of photographs and x-rays (panoramic and cephalometric) to facilitate an initial diagnosis and/or to establish a baseline for future treatment and growth. Dr. Johnson will then perform a thorough orthodontic examination utilizing a mouth mirror and plastic ruler. One of three determinations will be made:

• Treatment is needed now. Your orthodontic problems will be identified and explained as well as the possible treatment modalities that can be employed to correct the problems.
• Treatment is not needed at all.
• Treatment will be needed, but the timing is such that it should be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption, or other factors are monitored and reconciled.
