Your First Orthodontic Visit

Orthodontics can be daunting, but our engaging, entertaining team makes you feel right at home the moment you walk in the door. At Woodhill Dental Specialties, we don't just herd patients through the examination room. We take the time to get to know each patient and build a solid relationship that will last for years.

We'll start with a complimentary, one-hour consultation to determine your treatment needs, including taking x-rays and photos to determine potential treatment. One of our highly trained orthodontists will provide an orthodontic exam and discuss your options with you. You're never under obligation to accept our service, but we want you to know that you'll be in good hands here at one of the premier dentist and orthodontist offices in Dallas!

We will keep you informed every step of the way to make sure you understand all your treatment options. We have visual aids to show you what orthodontic appliances look like and how they work. After the exam, we will decide one of three things:

1. Treatment is needed now. There are dental issues that require immediate treatment to keep them from getting worse. Your orthodontic problems will be identified and explained as well as the possible treatments to correct the problems.
2. Treatment is not needed at all. Your teeth and jaws are in proper functioning and aesthetic alignment. You don’t require any orthodontic treatment, just the six-month dental check-up, and cleaning.
3. Treatment is needed, but it can wait. There may be other dental problems and issues that need to be reconciled before starting proper orthodontic treatments. The most common reasons for delays are tooth growth and immaturity, and tooth eruption. 

The first orthodontics visit is a time for us to get to know you and for you to get to know our practice and what to expect from your treatment. We’ll talk about your treatment goals and the best orthodontic solutions to help you get the smile you’ve always wanted.

To that end, we ask that you come prepared. Please download and fill out our new patient forms to bring with you on your first visit, along with your ID and your insurance card. With the paperwork out of the way, we can get to the fun stuff! You'll get a tour of our office, you'll meet our amazing team, and you'll chat with our incredible doctors.
